A sewing lesson

Allie has been wanting more skirts, but when we have gone shopping, we are more than a little disturbed by the length (or lack there of) on the ones we find. So today, Allie and I spent several hours sewing. She is a beginner, and I'm not far above that ;O) so we chose a very simple pattern. She was a wonderful student and completed three adorable, modest skirts to add to her wardrobe. I'm sure she will post more at her blog.

  1. Well done Heather and Allie. I think that it's wonderful that your are learning to sew your own clothes. I'm sure you both felt really proud. Soon you'll be whipping them up in a couple of hours or less. Im' inspired - I have a couple of quilting projects I must finish. Well done Allie.

  2. Great job! I've been finding great deals on fabric at one of the local Wal-Marts. We've been making lots of skirts for the exact same reason.

  3. The joy of making things by hand. There is nothing like it :)

Well done! I am sure as you progress in your skill, you will be making jackets and coats...

    Blessings,

    Maria
